Uwazi has enabled many organisations to bring more efficiency and rigour to their work - and show how documentation can advance impactful human rights work. It has proven to be a successful foundation for a range of different uses, such as monitoring and tracking violations for advocacy purposes, case management for use in litigation, collective memorialisation to serve longer-term justice efforts, and advance access to information, such as the creation of human rights digital information libraries. We collaborate with local activist groups, national human rights institutions, large international NGOs and many organisations in between. Some of our partners specialise in specific issues such as arbitrary arrest, freedom of expression, women's and girls’ rights, reducing inequality, historical memory, and transitional justice, while others focus on human rights-related mechanisms such as the United Nations Human Rights Treaty System. Beyond their shared commitment to dignity and freedom, our partners have an important thing in common: they achieve greater impact when human rights-related information is easy to access, navigate and understand.

Uwazi utilizes two-factor authentication and different user access levels, allowing for both prevention of and protection from unauthorized upload of illegal and inappropriate content. Furthermore, Uwazi allows users with administrator access to view an activity log within their Uwazi instance to find and monitor any suspicious activity. Last but not least, we are actively revising our contractual and hosting agreements with a clause that prohibits our partners from uploading, storing, or otherwise processing any inappropriate or illegal content, which may lead to the termination of our collaboration. In addition, all our partners have multiple points of contact in the organization to flag inappropriate and illegal content.

This goes directly to our Chief Technology Officer, Director of Programmes, and Director of Development and Communications, who will review and investigate any issues further.
