Who We Are

The Digital Public Goods Alliance is a global community of national governments, multilaterals and international non-and for profit organisations with a shared commitment to digital cooperation and the utilisations of digital public goods to improve the well-being of people and the planet.

Recognised for their leadership in the DPG ecosystem, members contribute significantly to the discovery, development, use of, and investment in DPGs. They do so by advancing the DPG Roadmap commitments they make upon joining the DPGA, and by convening regularly—both virtually and in person—to foster meaningful relationships, enable multilateral knowledge exchange, and catalyse collaborations that advance shared priorities.

See a full list of DPGA members and their activities they have committed to as part of their DPGA membership by visiting the Roadmap.

Day-to-day management is overseen by The DPGA Secretariat, who are responsible for the operations of the DPGA. It is led by a CEO who manages the DPGA Secretariat as an independent entity accountable to the Governance Board. Read more about our governance here.

What We Do

As we approach 2030, it has become abundantly clear that high-quality, open-source digital solutions play a critical role in the attainment of the sustainable development goals. While global challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic have brought significant hardship, we have also seen firsthand that digital public goods have enabled governments to swiftly adapt and implement innovative digital solutions that are helping them respond to immediate health and social protection needs.

From improving access to financial services to strengthening healthcare systems, digital public goods have a proven track record of driving meaningful, lasting impact. They enable governments and organisations to take control of their digital transformation through open, accessible, and adaptable solutions. Yet, there is still more to be done.

The DPGA’s 5-year strategy—developed in consultation with dozens of organisations and open-source experts—sets the direction for what the alliance aims to achieve.

Stewarding the DPG Standard and Registry

To build trust and confidence in the digital solutions that governments and organisations choose to use, the DPGA stewards both the DPG Standard and the DPG Registry. The DPG Standard defines what qualifies as a digital public good, setting clear criteria around openness, privacy, security, and other core attributes. The DPG Registry applies this Standard, serving as the only list of verified digital public goods. Together, they enable governments and organisations to discover and adopt solutions with confidence.

Targets

The DPGA’s 5-year strategy outlines four operational targets designed to prioritise, coordinate, and align the efforts of members and stakeholders. Learn more about these targets and how the DPGA is advancing them.
